The Daily Bell -- Stubborn Gaddafi Is Setback to Western Neocolonialism

'Dominant Social Theme: Heroic rebels, backed by Western support, are going to overthrow the Libyan madman and create democracy. -- It must be obvious to even a casual observer at this point that the war is not about saving civilian lives. That was just a justification, an entry point. There is a supposition, as we have reported in the past, that Gaddafi, like Saddam Hussein before him, planned to refuse dollars-for-oil, intending instead to use a Libyan Dinar tied to a new 'African Gold Standard.' The standard would have been backed by 150 tons of Libyan gold and used in African and Arab countries to cut out Western interests. Libya also controls its own money via the national state banking system and thus removes both BIS and IMF influence. Here is a video by Russia Today on this: http://youtu.be/GuqZfaj34nc -- Nonetheless, our fundamental analysis remains the same. The West attacked Libya as part of a larger strategy ... It is apparently part of an advancement of a new world order.'

'How to help the poor without pointing the gun at everyone else.' -- "If a majority of people want to do something, compelling them to do it is not rational." -- And if a majority of people don't believe that other people want to do it or if people don't want to do it themselves – and if people still want to claim the virtue of doing it and want to avoid the anxiety that follows from not doing it and want to avoid the anxiety of having relationships with people they don't believe want to do it – they will eagerly submit to a group of people with guns who will force everyone to talk about how much they're doing it, precisely because everyone knows they aren't.

"Democracy is a system of bribery. And the only way a system of bribery of the general population can work – here's something for nothing, here's 'free' schools, here's 'free' health-care, here's 'free' pensions, here's 'free' roads – the only way that this can ever work is through debt. The only way that democracy can remotely appear to function is through debt. Democracy is debt. Democracy is predation on the unborn and the non-voting. It is the lending of the bankers on the future collateral of the unborn that allows for the existing population to be bribed in a democracy. Of course the government is going to do what the bankers want because without the bankers lending them money they can't bribe the population in order to get into power. Democracy is bribery; bribery is borrowing; borrowing is debt. When you have a system that is based on borrowing and debt, the bankers are going to end up in control of the system. The problem is democracy. The problem is the state."

Adam Curtis Blog -- THE BABY AND THE BAATH WATER

'Elections were due in Syria in 1947, and the Americans decided to give "a discreet nudge here and there". This involved warning landowners, employers, ward bosses and police chiefs not to intimidate the voters. The American oil companies were paid to put up big posters telling the Syrians to "vote for the candidate of your choice" (apparently this baffled all the Syrians because the posters didn't mention any candidates by name). Hundreds of taxis were hired to take voters to the polls free of charge. And the Americans brought in automatic, tamper-proof voting machines. It didn't go as expected. The landowners and other elites ignored all the warnings and intimidated everyone. There were massive gun fights and scores of people were killed. The taxi-drivers bonded together and sold themselves to different candidates - promising to make their passengers vote the "right" way.' And worst of all, most of the pro-American candidates defected to other foreign powers.'

The Daily Bell -- G8 Clarifies Response to Phony Arab Spring

'Dominant Social Theme: Supporting the glorious Arab Spring is important. -- There are five countries that we count as successfully destabilized by the West (America in particular). They are Afghanistan, Iraq, Tunisia, Egypt and the Ivory Coast. The money shows where the West wants to go. ...there is a sudden scramble to bankroll efforts to steer these destabilized countries in the "right" direction. This is the stated goal then – regulatory democracies not Islamic republics. It is a predictable dominant social theme. Destabilizations have taken place and the citizenry has been freed! We do not put it past Western elites to be playing an even more subtle game. It is possible that Saudi Arabia is supposed to be destabilized to usher in a non-dollar, global currency. It is possible that the creation of a string of Islamic republics is still the ultimate goal (the better to support the "war on terror"). It is even possible that general chaos and regional war is the preferable outcome.'

The Daily Bell -- West Takes Over East

'Dominant Social Theme: The people have had enough and thanks to FaceBook are rebelling. -- We have a hard time understanding how people can look at what's happening and declare it's all coincidence... If someone ten years ago had said Western countries led by the Anglosphere would be deeply involved in conflicts in the Iraq, Afghanistan, the Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Syria and Yemen all at once (have we left any out?), the rationale for such activities probably would not be clear at all. In fact, the rationales still are not clear. It begins to look more and more like a low-key WORLD WAR – operating under the good-natured guise of installing "democracy" – rather than a series of relief missions and support activities. It is easy to be lulled by individual justifications for Western involvements in individual states, but when takes a step back and looks at the totality of what is now taking place, the view is startling and increasingly – deeply – disturbing.'

The Daily Bell -- Color Revolutions: The Fourth Way by Anthony Wile

'The result of these "revolutions" will be inevitably some other governmental organization. The choices are said to be: democracy, authoritarian (military) rule or some sort of Islamic republic. The last option has to do with the evolution of Islamic republics within the Middle East. This ... I believe will eventually become a reality. It will happen because this is the outcome that Western money power actually seeks. The Anglo-American power elite needs an enemy if it is to continue its "war on terror." Just as it did during the Great Depression, Western money power badly needs a war. The central banking economy, having ruined the wealth of the West, is not going to recover any time soon and is, in fact, unraveling faster than ever. The hope of the elite is that confrontation with the Middle East and parts of Africa will refocus the Western citizens' attention on an outside threat and paint the inevitable collapse of Western monetary systems in a different historical light.'

The Daily Bell -- Middle East Dreamtime

'These Middle Eastern uprisings are not entirely spontaneous but are in a sense orchestrated by Western powers that be for a variety or reasons. Even the proximate causes – rising food prices and a lack of employment – can be seen as deliberate Western policies designed to create hopelessness and despair that can then be converted to civil unrest at the opportune moment. Fortunately, the truth-telling of the Internet has helped people wake up from the overwhelming mind-control of the 20th century. We think the same process is occurring in the Middle East. Elite manipulations yet continue. The "color revolutions" constitute a shadow-play, even a Dreamtime; participants may yet not know they are being manipulated. Certainly they will not learn of it from the mainstream media which is covering these events in a purely linear fashion, ignoring evidences of manipulation and promoting the uprisings merely as expressions of grievances that must be addressed by new regimes.'

The Daily Bell -- Elite Desperation Over Failing Middle East Psyops

'The Anglo-American power elite has apparently decided to destablize the Middle East in order to create regulatory democracies with an Islamic tinge (an arrogant assumption in my view). The ultimate goal is to butress the war on terror and deliver enhanced authoritarianism to the West – and the Western middle classes that are always the targets of the elite. But as usual, the Internet has apparently upset elite plans. WikiLeaks could have released these cables at any point. They did it yesterday, apparently. It is as if the collective hand of the elite has been forced. Yes, it seems to me that with its plans exposed, Western elites may have decided to take credit for the Middle Eastern uprisings. Perhaps the UK Telegraph became the designated conduit. Why is it a desperate maneuver? Because the average youthful Egyptian or Tunisian is not going to look kindly on the idea that he and his world is being manipulated yet again by ruthless Western powers-that-be.'

Telegraph -- Egypt protests: America's secret backing for rebel leaders behind uprising

'The American Embassy in Cairo helped a young dissident attend a US-sponsored summit for activists in New York, while working to keep his identity secret from Egyptian state police. On his return to Cairo in December 2008, the activist told US diplomats that an alliance of opposition groups had drawn up a plan to overthrow President Hosni Mubarak and install a democratic government in 2011. The documents released by WikiLeaks reveal US Embassy officials were in regular contact with the activist throughout 2008 and 2009, considering him one of their most reliable sources for information about human rights abuses. The protests in Egypt are being driven by the April 6 youth movement, a group on Facebook that has attracted mainly young and educated members opposed to Mr Mubarak. The group has about 70,000 members and uses social networking sites to orchestrate protests and report on their activities.' -- What have you bought into; what will it cost to buy you out?

The Daily Bell -- Fall of Saudi Arabia to End Dollar Reserve System?

'Dominant Social Theme: The Jasmine revolution spread unexpectedly. -- Could it be that the power elite itself is inciting these disturbances? Is the idea, eventually, to crash the dollar and set up a global currency in its place? We have already hypothesized that these manipulated revolutions (if they are fully realized) will give rise to Islamic states. Now we will further explore the idea that the West is hoping to install a variety of "democratic" regimes – many of them perhaps "national unity governments," with Islamic overtones. These overthrows might accomplish numerous purposes, including the furtherance of elite globalism. The power elite has always had an affection for national unity governments ... The idea is that by reasoning together, opponents can build better and more efficient governments – that do more things for more people. All these revolutions coming at once are almost too good to be true. And perhaps they are.'
